This past Sunday was a full and great day at LHBC (Long Hollow Baptist Church). Pastor David Landrith continued his sermon series “ALL IN” with a message that encourage people to join the church. Of course he and the church body want you to join LHBC but the sermon was more then a pitch to get new members. He spoke about the importance of the body of Christ, how we are stronger together, the need to connect, serve, grow and go (in service).
As Brother David so effectively does when he uses illustrations, we saw Chuck Norris loose his arm, a sheep walked out on stage and we had a warm campfire. Never a dull sermon from our pastor. If I had more time I would explain the points that were made through each illustration but why read about it here when you can watch the sermon at http://www.longhollow.com/messages. If you do choose to watch the sermon Bother David is in the black button-up shirt and Chuck Norris is in the green wife-beater tee (sorry for the slang).
On Sunday night the praise teams from all three LHBC campuses came together to perform as they and the congregation were being recorded (audio). Our production staff is producing a CD of worship songs that other churches can uses in their Praise and Worship ( I am not sure about all these details all I know is when I shot this I was given free reign to roam the stage, the congregation, wherever I want to shoot from I could go, sweet!)
Here are some images from Sunday morning and evening!
Oh yea, one more thing, God has surely blessed LHBC with some talented and creative musicians, vocalist, production, media, etc. etc.!

Sunday Evening!

Quest 2010 Long Hollow
by Stan on Feb.27, 2010, under Faith, lhbc
Last night was the second day of Quest at Long Hollow Baptist. For those of you that are asking what is Quest, it is a four-day three-night youth (middle and high school age students) revival/conference that is hosted by LHBC. Youth from all over middle TN come and spend the days and nights worshiping, witnessing and just having a great time in the Lord. Last night a great crowd was treated with praise from Glory Revealed and a great message. Many youth came forward as a public witness that they were accepting Christ as their personal savoir. Here are some images from last night at Quest.

We started a new sermon series at Long Hollow Baptist Church Today. Praise and worship was awesome (we are so spoiled by such talented people). People were hustling about. Brother David mixed up all the ingredients and cooked a batch of great sugar cookies! People took notes and were basically blessed. I Love our church! If you are looking for a church or interested in learning about Jesus and what he can do for you, come join us, check out www.longhollow.com

Long Hollow Baptist Student Crusade 2009
by Stan on Oct.07, 2009, under Faith, lhbc
I finally had an opportunity to go to the final night of the 2009 Student Crusade. High School and Middle School Students from the area packed the church after downing a bunch of pizza. The praise and worship by The Chris White Band and Dave Edwards brought a great message to the teens. Great numbers of teens accepted Christ. I love shooting the youth events at LHBC and I am continually blessed by their enthusiastic commitment to Christ….Amen!

The Ladies enjoyed Crazy Love at Long Hollow Baptist Church
by Stan on Aug.29, 2009, under Faith, lhbc
Thursday evening I had the privilege of shooting the Long Hollow Baptist women’s ministry Crazy Love event. Needless to say at first I felt a little out of place, I mean there was me and almost 900 women, but the ladies didn’t seem to mind me, they were there to Praise the Lord. The Praise and Worship was lead by Shelly E. Johnson, which was great and the speaker was Mary Beth Chapman. Mrs. Chapman spoke of how God is using her family’s personal tragedy to bring him Glory and how his faithfulness continues to bring strength during the darkest time of her life. There were tears and laughter yet the message was one of victory, trust and that the Lord is in control no matter what! Below are some images of the event. Thanks to Julie Woodruff and LHBC Women’s Ministries for asking me to shoot. As always your comments are always welcome!

Bible Camp in Canada…
by Stan on Aug.06, 2009, under Canada, children, lhbc, missions
Last summer I had the opportunity to be a part of a joint mission trip with members from Long Hollow Baptist Church and Scarborough Baptist Church of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada. This trip was to a wilderness camp in northern Saskatchewan where we lead Bible school for Indian children from the First Nation’s Indian Reserves. I could go on and on about the blessing we received that week but I would rather tell you little about the kids. They are wonderful! Most of them are only subjected to the love of Christ this one-week a year. They are like little sponges, asking questions about Jesus, wanting to know more about his love and they instantly take a place in your heart. This July I plan to go back along with my wife Julie (she was not able to go last year) however up until now we have not solicit donations to help fund our expenses because we were planning to pay for our trips ourselves. However circumstances have occurred that will not enable us to fund our trips. Therefore, we are asking for your help. The cost of the trip is $1300.00 each. If you feel led to assist us financially you may contribute by sending a check made payable to Long Hollow Baptist Church to Long Hollow Baptist Church, 3031 Long Hollow Pike, Hendersonville, TN 37075. Send your check to the attention of Marybeth Burns and indicate on the for line of the check: Financial Support for: Stan or Julie Dunlap, Canada Mission Trip. Julie and I appreciate any help you may provide and if you cannot make a donation, please pray for this mission trip, Satan is real and he does not like what is happening in Canada.
Below are some images I took at last years Bible camp, which I posted after we returned last summer. God Bless!
Wednesday was a good and difficult day at the Bible Camp (this is what the children called it). Good because the children began smiling, playing, singing and interacting more then the day before. Difficult because two brothers, Freddy and Keenan had to unexpectedly leave the camp. It was hard on all of us but especially Austin, who in just two days had really connected to Keenan.
As I go through the images it is very hard to pick out just a few to post. Each image I review I remember shooting it, I remember what they were doing, and I remember how at first I almost had to hide, then how they began to almost pose for me. Five short days were not enough time, I pray for them and I pray the Lord lets me go back.

The morning was going well and the LHBC boys were enjoying themselfs (to the kids amusement)!

not to be out done by the guys, the ladies!

John realized that Satan would use this to disrupt the camp, so we prayed, and lifted the camp and the boys up!

We trusted in the Lord and camp continued..

VBS at Heritage Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada.
by Stan on Jul.30, 2009, under Canada, lhbc, missions
As you know, if you know me or have visited our Blog recently, I had the privilege to help adults and youth from Long Hollow Baptist Church and Pastor Jerry from Scarborough Baptist Church in Prince Albert, Canada, hold Vacation Bible School for First Nations children. We spent a week at a camp by Heritage Lake, in northern Saskatchewan. This was the first mission trip I had ever been on and I have to say, my only regret is that I didn’t go on one earlier in my life. The blessings were amazing, I received so much more then I gave.
The Camp was rustic, we sleep in tents, we bathed in the (cold) clear lake and we fought the mosquitoes and flies with the strongest repellant we could find. The trees were tall & beautiful, the sky was clear blue, the mornings were cool, the temperatures during the day were great (except when it rained) and the children touched my heart!

Jerry's church in PA (Prince Albert)
This post shows a few images when we first got to camp, set up camp and when the kids first arrived (Sat thru Mon). As you can see, when the kids first arrived they were not sure what to expect, but as the week went on they seemed to enjoy themselves. I will post more images latter.

The only building which served as the kitchen, worship center and activity center (this picture was taken at about 9:00 pm CST, the sun didn't set until about 10:00 PM and dawn was about 3:30 AM)

Sunday Morning, time to finish setting up camp...told you the trees were big and the sky was blue!

Getting ready for the kids and VBS

who knows what this is?

left over rock art from prior VBS camps

Monday morning came and so did the rain

it rained all morning

It rained all day!
As it rained our youth (and the adults) prepared spiritually for the kids arrival. We prayed that God would prepare our hearts and the kids for a week of worship and study of Jesus. I tell you I was so impressed (and Proud) of the LHBC youth.

Then they studied lessons and wrote notes of encouragement to each other!

Then it was time to practice our praise and worship…

Getting off the bus

Some were happy

Most were not sure what to expect

I am sure she thought we were nuts!

hiding by a tree
It was cool and raining so we went inside to decorate team hats and sing. Their reception to us was also cool, but think about it, here were these strangers, screaming and making a tunnel for them to run through, as they got off the bus, and we were singing Working on my Serve and they were probably asking each other, what’s a serve? You can tell by their faces what they must have been thinking. But as I think you will see in post of Tuesday forward, God showed up and they smiled!

Keenan, is not sure about this

A few, that had been there before, did remember what it was about and you could tell by the way they decorated their hat!

He does!!!
Post of Tues. and Wed. to come soon! Let me know you have been here leave a comment, please!!

Back from an awesome week in Saskatchewan, Canada!
by Stan on Jul.26, 2009, under children, lhbc, missions
This is my first post since returning from LHBC’s mission trip to Heritage Lake camp in Saskatchewan. Adults and youth from LHBC partnered with Scarborough Baptist church in Prince Albert, Canada to hold a week of Vacation Bible School for 34 amazing children (most from the Muskoday First Nations Reserve, southeast of Prince Albert, Canada). I will post more latter but I wanted to thank these 34 children for one of the best weeks of my life. Also, I want them to remember that people in Nashville TN are praying for them, so please look at their names and lift them up in your prayers!

Brothers Freddy (in the hat) and Keenan, who both had to leave camp early due to a family problem.
