A fun “HOT” shoot
by Stan on Jun.05, 2010, under bridals, portrait
Wednesday Julie and I went to Cedar Hill and Adams TN to shoot Mrs. Brittney Bolton’s bridal portrait. Brittney decided to shoot her bridal after her and Mathew’s wedding, which was Feb. 14th 2010. Their wedding day was a cold snowy day but her portrait day was anything but cold, it was HOT 90+! The heat wasn’t our only obstacle we had to overcome, as Julie and I drove up to Cedar Hill my head was spinning with all the potential locations we could use for the shoot and I knew the hardest part of this day was going to be deciding on what locations to choose. When we arrived at Brittney’s mothers house Brittney and I decided our course of action (which locations to use) and we all set out on a great day. As you can see Brittney is a lovely bride and made my job so easy. Her gown is from the White Room located in Lebanon TN. Please let us know what you think of the portraits below, it only takes a second and all comments are appreciated.

Haley 2010
by Stan on Apr.09, 2010, under Seniors, portrait
It was unusually hot for the 6th of April, the day that we shot Haley, but the humidity wasn’t high and it was breezy which made for a great day. Haley is a Senior in High School, but she is much more then that…she is an active member of our church, both with the youth and our Praise and Worship teams. Listening to her sing and play the guitar is such a blessing and when you talk with her it doesn’t take long to see that she is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.
We choose a couple of locations for her shoot, one was an alley the other an old factory. Below are some images from the afternoon, tell me what you think by leaving a comment or you can email me at stan@sdphotographs.com.
Shout Outs to: Jamie (Haley’s mom) for being so patient, Brooke for Haley’s hair, Kaylee (Haley’s friend) for helping to make Haley laugh, Haley for putting up with me and the long session and my daughter Ashley for assisting her dad.

Joe Quilty with his children
by Stan on Nov.27, 2009, under portrait
Joe and his children wanted an outdoor country setting for their casual style portraits, Julie and I knew just the spot. Earlier in the fall I had found this barn with old trucks, woods and plenty of pasture. I suggested the location to Joe and he and his kids were all for it. Here are a few from our afternoon with the Quilty’s.

Brittney & Mathew to be married on ??/??/??
by Stan on Nov.23, 2009, under engagement, portrait
Brittney and Mathew came to Julie and me and ask us to photograph their wedding however, everyone but Brittney new the wedding date. I mean the venue, the florist, the gown designer, the groom and us, but not the bride! Mathew had a plan and didn’t want to tell her until, well I am not sure when. The main thing is they are getting married at the Hermitage Golf Course and we are the photographers. We recently shot their engagement portraits and here are a few. By the way I think she now knows the date but I am not taking any chances, so tune in latter and when I am sure she knows I will give you the date.

Alyssa and Brandon are engaged
by Stan on Oct.29, 2009, under engagement, portrait
We took Brandon and Alyssa to the courthouse but not to get married, to shoot their engagement images. Julie and I have known Alyssa for several years and consider her almost one of our own kids, so when she ask if we would shoot her and Brandon’s wedding, we were overjoyed. Below are a few of this good looking couple’s images. As always, your comments are welcome.

We had a great time with Haley!
by Stan on Oct.23, 2009, under Seniors, portrait
Julie and I had a great time shooting Haley’s portrait last weekend. We decided to shoot at various locations in downtown Nashville. We had to reschedule several times, waiting to get a sunny day and we finally hit it right. Haley is a senior at Beech High School, and a very talented musician so we incorporate her guitar in some of the shots. We had a lot of fun as crowds of people stopped and watched. Let us know what you think of her images.

Angela’s Bridal
by Stan on Oct.19, 2009, under bridals, portrait
It was an ugly cold day on Saturday, but Angela had made the drive from Illinois so we could shoot her bridal portrait, so we were gonna work with the weather we had and get her some great images. I met her at the church she had grown up in near Clarksville TN, just 500 feet from the TN-KY line. We determined we would shoot some outside and some in. Out side shots first, so as I set up she got dressed. She had to wear her coat in between shots in an effort to keep the goose bumps to a minimum size! Remember how cloudy it was Saturday, well sometimes those clouds provide for some dramatic images, what do you think?

Her childhood church

She was cold but liked the clouds

love the glasses

no glasses

a little help from julie, angela is standing on a sheet so not to soil her gown...notice the coat!

a little tuck here and there and the sheet is gone and then the coat comes off and we shoot the following shot

I think this is my favorite, what do you think?

She got a little sassy when she got inside, out of the cold!

Thanks Angela for not complaining about the cold!
Lindsey’s Bridal Portrait
by Stan on Oct.15, 2009, under bridals, portrait
Julie and me photographed our daughter Lindsey at Belmont University in August and now that her wedding is over she gave me permission to post a few of the images. I know I am prejudice but isn’t she pretty, looks just like her mother!

Sorry Linds, had to show this! I ask her to get next to this flower and as she did a bee flew right at her face...it didn't get her but I did!

Senior and future pilot Josh Flint
by Stan on Oct.12, 2009, under Seniors, portrait
Josh is a senior at Beech HS in Hendersonville and during his portrait consultation he told me that after he graduates from Beech he is going to MTSU and become a pilot. He told me he likes fast cars and airplanes…and since I do not have a Ferrari we decided to shoot his senior images at Sumner County Regional Airport. Thanks to all the friendly staff at the airport that allowed us to shoot just about anywhere, with in reason. Here are a few of Josh’s images please leave a comment, good and bad, believe me they help.

Kelly’s Bridal at Hazel Path Mansion, Hendersonville Tn
by Stan on Oct.08, 2009, under bridals, portrait, venues
Had a great time shooting Kelly on Sunday afternoon. Kelly and Jeff were married last year and Kelly wanted a bridal portrait to give to her mother so we scheduled a day to shoot. We got rained out two other times and of course it rained on Sunday. However this time we had scheduled to shoot at Hazel Path Mansion so we just moved to the carriage porch and the mansion foyer. The main goal of Kelly was to surprise her mother. Teresa, Kelly’s mom was thrilled with the portraits and for me, that’s what it is all about! Here are a few shots.
