This past Sunday was a full and great day at LHBC (Long Hollow Baptist Church). Pastor David Landrith continued his sermon series “ALL IN” with a message that encourage people to join the church. Of course he and the church body want you to join LHBC but the sermon was more then a pitch to get new members. He spoke about the importance of the body of Christ, how we are stronger together, the need to connect, serve, grow and go (in service).
As Brother David so effectively does when he uses illustrations, we saw Chuck Norris loose his arm, a sheep walked out on stage and we had a warm campfire. Never a dull sermon from our pastor. If I had more time I would explain the points that were made through each illustration but why read about it here when you can watch the sermon at http://www.longhollow.com/messages. If you do choose to watch the sermon Bother David is in the black button-up shirt and Chuck Norris is in the green wife-beater tee (sorry for the slang).
On Sunday night the praise teams from all three LHBC campuses came together to perform as they and the congregation were being recorded (audio). Our production staff is producing a CD of worship songs that other churches can uses in their Praise and Worship ( I am not sure about all these details all I know is when I shot this I was given free reign to roam the stage, the congregation, wherever I want to shoot from I could go, sweet!)
Here are some images from Sunday morning and evening!
Oh yea, one more thing, God has surely blessed LHBC with some talented and creative musicians, vocalist, production, media, etc. etc.!

Quest 2010 Long Hollow
by Stan on Feb.27, 2010, under Faith, lhbc
Last night was the second day of Quest at Long Hollow Baptist. For those of you that are asking what is Quest, it is a four-day three-night youth (middle and high school age students) revival/conference that is hosted by LHBC. Youth from all over middle TN come and spend the days and nights worshiping, witnessing and just having a great time in the Lord. Last night a great crowd was treated with praise from Glory Revealed and a great message. Many youth came forward as a public witness that they were accepting Christ as their personal savoir. Here are some images from last night at Quest.
The doors open and the energy level went through the roof!

ALL IN! Today at Long Hollow
by Stan on Feb.21, 2010, under Faith, lhbc
We started a new sermon series at Long Hollow Baptist Church Today. Praise and worship was awesome (we are so spoiled by such talented people). People were hustling about. Brother David mixed up all the ingredients and cooked a batch of great sugar cookies! People took notes and were basically blessed. I Love our church! If you are looking for a church or interested in learning about Jesus and what he can do for you, come join us, check out www.longhollow.com

COME VISIT!
Help for Haiti
by Stan on Jan.24, 2010, under Faith, Stan Stuff, Uncategorized
As I have watched the news and updates about the devastation in Haiti I’ve seen the destruction, the pain, the poverty, and I realized how spoiled I am. I realized how out of touch with this situation I am. I see the images and I pray, I see the hurting and dyeing and I feel badly, but what am I going to do? I asked what is my part in this?
Last week as I was looking at some of the images from Haiti I saw this one of a little boy, all alone and setting on a rock. In my early training as a photographer I was taught to focus on a persons eyes so now when I’m viewing a photograph of a person I seem to always look at the eyes. The boy looked to be about 8 or 9 and his eyes were big and brown, he wasn’t crying he wasn’t doing anything, just looking into the camera lens. I can’t explain it but the lost and lonely look in this child’s eyes told the story. Then I read the caption under the image, he had lost his entire family and had no one. Then I thought, how much do I love, I talk a good game but how much do I care, and how much do I sacrifice? That day the words of Brandon Heath’s song “Give Me Your Eyes” kept going through my mind;
Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me your love for humanity
Give me your arms for the broken hearted
Ones that are far beyond my reach.
Give me your heart for the ones forgotten
Give me your eyes so I can see
Last Sunday and today Long Hollow Baptist (as well as countless other churches) gave and gave and gave. Since last summer Long Hollow has been raising money through the Crazy Love offerings in order, via a partnership with the Global Orphans Project, to build villages with schools and shelter for the orphans of Haiti. Is this a coincidence? I don’t think so; I think God has been preparing my heart, our hearts in order to break them so we can see. I will never see the boy in the photograph but God is calling me to help my church and through His work the orphans in Haiti will be exposed to his love and grace!
Today the people attending Long Hollow donated food, medicine, tents, diapers and clothes to the people of Haiti. FedEx donated a trailer, driver and time and will deliver the items to Miami, Florida. Once in Miami the Global Orphans Project will have it shipped to Haiti. The trailer was filled, actually there was probably enough to fill two trailers. Here are few images from today at Long Hollow;

Not only did they give they worked. Men, women and children packed boxes and loaded the truck!

Awesome! Keep praying for Haiti and for the staff members of Long Hollow Baptist who are in Haiti this week!
Long Hollow Baptist Student Crusade 2009
by Stan on Oct.07, 2009, under Faith, lhbc
I finally had an opportunity to go to the final night of the 2009 Student Crusade. High School and Middle School Students from the area packed the church after downing a bunch of pizza. The praise and worship by The Chris White Band and Dave Edwards brought a great message to the teens. Great numbers of teens accepted Christ. I love shooting the youth events at LHBC and I am continually blessed by their enthusiastic commitment to Christ….Amen!

The Ladies enjoyed Crazy Love at Long Hollow Baptist Church
by Stan on Aug.29, 2009, under Faith, lhbc
Thursday evening I had the privilege of shooting the Long Hollow Baptist women’s ministry Crazy Love event. Needless to say at first I felt a little out of place, I mean there was me and almost 900 women, but the ladies didn’t seem to mind me, they were there to Praise the Lord. The Praise and Worship was lead by Shelly E. Johnson, which was great and the speaker was Mary Beth Chapman. Mrs. Chapman spoke of how God is using her family’s personal tragedy to bring him Glory and how his faithfulness continues to bring strength during the darkest time of her life. There were tears and laughter yet the message was one of victory, trust and that the Lord is in control no matter what! Below are some images of the event. Thanks to Julie Woodruff and LHBC Women’s Ministries for asking me to shoot. As always your comments are always welcome!

Psalm 139: 23 & 24
by Stan on Aug.27, 2009, under Faith, Stan Stuff
Those of you that know me know my faith is placed in Jesus Christ and as I had my quit time today I felt led to share one of my high-lights with you (high-lights are verses or sometimes chapters that are high-lighted in my Bible).
Search me O God and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the (your) way everlasting. Psalm 139: 23 & 24
Have a great day!
