Wedding at Grace Community, Rain or Shine!
by Stan on Jun.11, 2010, under Uncategorized, weddings
David Begley and Sharon Merkle were married at farm/camp property belonging to her grandfather called Grace Community on Sunday, May 30th, 2010. Sharon grew up riding her horses and running around on this land which made it an easy choice for her and David to select it as the location for their outdoor wedding.
The days forecast was for warm temperatures, bright blue skies and a chance for some showers. As you will be able to tell from the images we had all three. The rain didn’t start coming down hard until about thirty minutes before the ceremony and even though they tried to wait out the shower they had to move the wedding to the reception tent. Everyone hustled to converted one of the tents into the ceremony location and though the rain continued, David and Sharon did not let the change of venue dampen there excitement.
David and Sharon, thanks so much for letting us be a part of your Rain and Shine wedding Day!

Jenni & Andrew’s wedding
by Stan on May.10, 2010, under weddings
Sorry it has taken so long to get a preview of Jenni and Andrew’s wedding posted but Julie and I had a few problems with the Middle TN flood of 2010 (see first two images of this post). However, things are getting cleaned-up around our house and I got a chance to work on the wedding images. The outdoor Bolton wedding of May 1st planned for the Haygood’s farm was rained into the Historic Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Gordon Baines and John Steen performed the wedding before a standing room only crowd. The rain and change of venues did not dampen the spirit of this wedding, as the couple kissed to the cheers of the well-wishers and the wedding party danced as they exited. The receptions was a country theme with barbeque, ice cold Coca-Colas, an ice cream machine and cupcakes. After the ceremony the girls changed into their western boots (until they went barefoot) for the dancing and celebrating. You will see in some of the images a lot of the female attendants (as well as the bride) were former cheerleaders at Liberty University, and they could sky! There was a dress up photo booth complete with the LHBC Crazy Love couch where quest could have their photo made and the donations went to the Haiti LHBC-Global Orphan Project. Big shoot-outs to Holly Bieber, the Haygoods, my wife (Julie) and all the others that made Jenni and Andrew’s wedding day special! Also, to Jenni and Andrew, thanks for letting Julie and me be a part of your Great Wedding! Remember, leave a comment.
The following photo was taken by Reed Bieber with his Iphone after he helped me move furniture from our first floor to the second floor.

Our house was an island at 10:00 am Sunday, May 2nd and was the reason for this post being late!

We were one of the lucky homeowners, the water did not get into the first floor.

This bride had her bases covered, wedding heels, western boots and black and white cowboy rain boots...oh yea, and of course the rings!

The Bride is ready to see the Groom, alone, in the chapel.

Andrew waits in the chapel for his Bride, reflecting on the cross, you see, he ask Jenni to be his wife while they were on a mission trip in Haiti.

She calls his name and he won't turn arround and they both start laughing (because he was trying so hard not to cry).

They were happy tears.

They were alone in the chapel but the door had windows.

A Valentine Wedding!
by Stan on Feb.18, 2010, under weddings
Sunday was February 14th, Valentines Day and Brittney and Mathew’s Wedding day! A few months ago when Brittney and Mathew booked us for their wedding, they explained it was going to be a winter wedding in the pavilion at Hermitage Golf Course, by the fireplace and they were hoping for snow. Valentines day came, snow was in the forecast and we all hoped for some flurries. The snow didn’t come until Monday, but the couple had a beautiful candle-lit fireside, romantic winter wedding. We want to thank Brittney and Mathew for choosing us to photograph their Valentines Day! Here is a preview of the day’s images.

As I was processing some wedding photographs when the outside temperature was below zero, I had an idea to post some images from some warm weddings. I love photographing weddings and I try to have fun in every detail of the images I shoot. Enjoy the beautiful flowers. You can view more at www.sdphotographs.com.

Wedding Packages for 2010
by Stan on Feb.08, 2010, under bridals, engagement, weddings
I have finally finished our Wedding Packages for 2010. When I started this process I set out to simplify the packages, structure them so that couples could choose a package and options that fit their budget yet still enable them to have wonderful photographic memories of their engagement and wedding.
You will notice that two of our three packages include either an enagagement or bridal session or both; the reason for that is simple, we want to get to know the couple before their wedding day. Engagement and Bridals allow us time before the wedding to work with the bride and groom in a relaxed atmosphere, with out interruptions and the time constraits that are a part of every Wedding Day. To review our galleries and see the package information go to www.sdphotographs.com.

My Daughter’s Wedding
by Stan on Oct.14, 2009, under weddings
This past weekend our daughter, Lindsey was married to Chase Moore. The ceremony took place in the chapel at Long Hollow Baptist Church in Hendersonville TN. It was a cloudy day on the outside but Lindsey and Chase had the time of their life. The day was filled with laughter and tears (emotional happy tears) as our friends and family witnessed the occasion. Yes, I shot a lot of the images prior to the ceremony; the ceremony and images at the reception were shot by Photographer Taylor Cooper (my sons girlfriend) and high school photographic intern Evan Shields. So enough with the words, I promised Lindsey and Chase I would have some images on this blog by Thursday so as they honeymoon in Mexico they can see some shots from their wedding. Please leave comments because they help, both good and constructive.

Ashton & Josh’s wedding
by Stan on Oct.02, 2009, under weddings
Julie and I (along with my daughter Lindsey) had the pleasure of photographing Ashton and Josh’s wedding this past Saturday in Nashville at Grace Baptist Church. The day started out cloudy and raining, but as the wedding started the rain stopped and the sun came out. After the wedding the reception was held at Joshua’s of Twelve Stones, no better place for Josh since Twelve Stones is a Golf Course, which is something he loves! Ashton’s gown is from the White Room in Lebanon TN. Thanks Josh and Ashton for letting us be a part of your day and below is several shots from your day!

Amy & Brian’s Wedding at Spring House Golf Course in Nashville, Tennessee
by Stan on Jun.29, 2009, under Uncategorized, venues, weddings
Amy and Brian were married on June 6th 2009 in the clubhouse at Gaylord’s Spring House Golf Course. The ceremony was a Saturday morning affair and the bride and groom decide to have all the wedding party images shot before the wedding. However, Amy wanted to meet Brian alone and before any of the bridal party images were shot. Several weeks prior to the wedding Amy and I scoped out the location that she would meet Brian, on the morning of their wedding. She decided on a tree lined walk bride on the course at hole number 5. With Brain’s back to her she walked across the bridge and called out his name. Smiles and tears, smiles and tears!!! After the ceremony and red Corvette get away, the bride and groom returned to the clubhouse where they met me and Julie and by taking two golf carts we traveled to other locations on the course for some additional shots.
