Inta and Travis are engaged!

This past weekend we had the opportunity to photograph Travis and Inta’s engagement session. We started out on the Shelby Street walk bridge and ended the afternoon up at the War Memorial building. You will notice some shots with a grocery cart and I will have to let Inta tell you about these shots but lets just say it has something to do with Travis and daily visits to grocery stores. It was so much fun for me and Ashley (my daughter) to spend some time with Inta and Travis, they were great to shoot and I must give them BIG shout-outs… because it was a very hot day and they didn’t complain…not one time. Pam & Marcus

Last Saturday, June 26th, Julie and I had the privilege to photograph the wedding of Pam and Marcus in a ceremony at Brentwood United Methodist Church and reception held at Brentwood Country Club. The wedding was attended by many of the couples family and friends. You will be able to see from some of the images that BUMC is in a lot of the photographs, the reason is because not only are the couples members of this church but the actually meet at church. They both attended the same Small Group Sunday School class and the rest is history. They are a lovely couple and God is surely blessing their relationship. Below is a preview of the day’s images. Jeff and Greta

Jeff and Greta are getting married in a cool indoors wedding ceremony latter this summer, but last Monday evening they were such good sports as we took to the hot outdoors for their engagement session. Let me say it again, they were so great to work with in sweltering temperatures!

We had several locations to travel to (as you can see from the images) but the one that was so much fun and had sentimental meaning was the Nashville Sounds baseball game (you see rumor has it that Greta ask Jeff out on their first date and they went to a Sounds game). While shooting at the ballpark Greta even got a foul ball which I used in a ring shot, what a women (OK she did get it from the bullpen players but it was a foul ball that they had caught).

We ended up in downtown Nashville cooling off by some fountains and getting sprayed with water by some kids actually playing IN the fountains. Great night with a great couple. Check out the images and let us know what you think, leave a comment!

Sounds lost but it was $1 dog night!

Wedding at Grace Community, Rain or Shine!

David Begley and Sharon Merkle were married at farm/camp property belonging to her grandfather called Grace Community on Sunday, May 30th, 2010. Sharon grew up riding her horses and running around on this land which made it an easy choice for her and David to select it as the location for their outdoor wedding.

The days forecast was for warm temperatures, bright blue skies and a chance for some showers. As you will be able to tell from the images we had all three. The rain didn’t start coming down hard until about thirty minutes before the ceremony and even though they tried to wait out the shower they had to move the wedding to the reception tent. Everyone hustled to converted one of the tents into the ceremony location and though the rain continued, David and Sharon did not let the change of venue dampen there excitement.

David and Sharon, thanks so much for letting us be a part of your Rain and Shine wedding Day!

A fun “HOT” shoot

Wednesday Julie and I went to Cedar Hill and Adams TN to shoot Mrs. Brittney Bolton’s bridal portrait. Brittney decided to shoot her bridal after her and Mathew’s wedding, which was Feb. 14th 2010. Their wedding day was a cold snowy day but her portrait day was anything but cold, it was HOT 90+! The heat wasn’t our only obstacle we had to overcome, as Julie and I drove up to Cedar Hill my head was spinning with all the potential locations we could use for the shoot and I knew the hardest part of this day was going to be deciding on what locations to choose. When we arrived at Brittney’s mothers house Brittney and I decided our course of action (which locations to use) and we all set out on a great day. As you can see Brittney is a lovely bride and made my job so easy. Her gown is from the White Room located in Lebanon TN. Skydiving in Kentucky (not me I was shooting)!

This past Saturday my friends decided to jump out of an airplane two miles above the Earth. My best buddy lives in Louisville, Kentucky and has always wanted to go skydiving. This past weekend he did it! Jenn, a young lady that works in his office and her friend Peggy, also had this desire to float down from the heavens hanging from a piece of brightly colored material by some string. Ronnie (my friend) called me last week explaining that he and a group had schedule tandem jumps for the weekend and asks me if I wanted to shoot this memorial event, of course I did. So I met them at the airport in Elizabethtown KY and after they had signed a zillion “not responsible for death, give your life away forms” they Jumped. As you can tell I’m a chicken and when I see Danger signs I pretty much walk the other way. However these folks overcame their butterflies and did what they set out to do. Below are some images from their accomplishment!

Prom 2010

Had an opportunity to photograph Celeste and Jessup before their prom this past weekend. I traveled to Lebanon to shoot in Celeste parent’s backyard. We were a little pressed for time because Jessup, who plays on the high school baseball team had a playoff game after the shoot and before the prom (not sure if they won or not). They were a great couple. Here are a few from the shoot.

Jenni & Andrew’s wedding

Sorry it has taken so long to get a preview of Jenni and Andrew’s wedding posted but Julie and I had a few problems with the Middle TN flood of 2010 (see first two images of this post). However, things are getting cleaned-up around our house and I got a chance to work on the wedding images. The outdoor Bolton wedding of May 1st planned for the Haygood’s farm was rained into the Historic Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Gordon Baines and John Steen performed the wedding before a standing room only crowd. The rain and change of venues did not dampen the spirit of this wedding, as the couple kissed to the cheers of the well-wishers and the wedding party danced as they exited. The receptions was a country theme with barbeque, ice cold Coca-Colas, an ice cream machine and cupcakes. After the ceremony the girls changed into their western boots (until they went barefoot) for the dancing and celebrating. You will see in some of the images a lot of the female attendants (as well as the bride) were former cheerleaders at Liberty University, and they could sky! There was a dress up photo booth complete with the LHBC Crazy Love couch where quest could have their photo made and the donations went to the Haiti LHBC-Global Orphan Project. Big shoot-outs to Holly Bieber, the Haygoods, my wife (Julie) and all the others that made Jenni and Andrew’s wedding day special! Stormy Saturday

The weatherman said storms today and he was correct. I had a couple of outdoors shoots scheduled for today so we had to reschedule. But I still wanted to shoot so I decided to shoot things in my yard. Julie and I have a family living under our Direct TV dish, a family of Robins. The little ones are about a week old so I decide to shoot them, I mean photographs them. Needless to say mom Robin wasn’t to keen on my idea as she flew by a couple of times and never took her eyes off me. As it began to sprinkle I moved around the yard and when it began to pour I came inside. See what you think.

Shooting Andy

Andy was not quit into the senior portrait thing but that’s normal, a lot of people don’t like to have their portrait done. However, since it was a warm, sunny and windy (very windy) spring day, both Andy and we loved the weather, so we set out to make his experience fun and enjoyable. We choose some locations that reflected his personality, which is intelligent but fun loving and casual.

As we shot at locations in Nashville, Andy warned me (and his mother Kathy) that he like the places we were shooting and was enjoying himself, but he wasn’t going to smile. Sorry Andy, I gotcha smiling buddy and you look great! Below are a few images and as always your comments are welcome and actually help!
