Blog | Stan Dunlap Photography, Hendersonville Tennessee

so far this spring this was the first full week of no rain and great tempts which made for a busy time. One of my shoots was a Senior Portrait session with Katie. We choose the Town Square of Springfield to get a little of the old town casual feel. I shot natural light, ambient plus a reflector and for some images I used a profoto 500 with a beauty dish and sock (care to guess how I lit each image?). As Always I used a Nikond5 and the lens were Nikkor 24-70mm f2.8 and a Nikkor 85mm f1.8.

The sunny skies made Katies blonde hair pop and her natural beauty shine. We had a great time cruising the square and I think that comes out in her photographs.

Lake shoot / Old Hickory / Hendersonville / Senior Portraits / Lily

This week I had Lilly scheduled for some Senior Portraits and the only day there was rain in the forecast was our shoot day. I watched the radar all day, went back and forth, reschedule, shoot, reschedule, shoot….it looked like we might get wet, might not. We took a chance and got lucky. What a shoot, what a girl! I ask her “Even though it didn’t rain ya wanta get wet”? Look at the images and tell me what she said?

New Senior Rep from Davidson Academy Ansley

Welcoming the first new rep of the 2019-2020 Senior year, this is Ansley from Davidson Academy. These are a few shots from her first ever photoshoot. Since it is January in Middle Tennessee and it is cold we spent a little time in the studio. During our shoot we shot a few casuals and some softball uni shots. Enjoy the shots and the outtakes.

Senior Portraits, Hendersonville TN (via Springfield TN)

The weather in Middle Tennessee this week was the best we have seen so far this spring and I took full advantage with a lot of outdoor photography sessions. Here is one of the shoots with High School Senior Katie from her senior portrait session. Katie wanted a relaxed urban feel to her images so we chose to head the the Town Square of Springfield TN. The great weather allowed me to use natural light and a reflector for most shots but we also used a Profoto 500 with a beauty dish and sock (see if you can tell which images are natural light and which are not). As always the camera was a Nikon 5 and I used two lens, Nikkor 24-70mm f2.8 and an 85mm Nikkor f1.8.  It was a great afternoon for photographing a gorgeous young lady.
